When Anthony Viggiano’s friend nearly lost his life in a boating accident, the Connecticut businessman, who is also an avid boater, was inspired to create an affordable device that makes boating safer. The product, called AUTOTETHER™, is a wireless lanyard that shuts off a boat’s engine in the event that the boat operator falls into the water. Viggiano (above, right) developed the idea for AUTOTETHER™ with Martin LoSchiavo (above, left).
AUTOTETHER™ is made in the USA. The company is headquartered in Rocky Hill, Connecticut and is dedicated to maintaining the quality and integrity of the manufacturing of every system that is sold. Our products are developed with the boating consumer in mind, making them affordable and simple to install.
AUTOTETHER™ has partnered with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary to promote the safe use of recreational boating and other water-borne equipment through the use of the kill-switch technology. Our goal is to help create a safer boating environment.
